If you’re building websites with Hostinger AI Builder and need a fresh start, resetting your website is easier than you might think. Whether you’re rebranding, troubleshooting, or simply want a clean slate, this tutorial walks you through every step of the process.
Step 1: Backup Your Website by Duplicating It
Before making any major changes, it’s crucial to create a backup copy of your website. Hostinger makes this simple.
- Log into your Hostinger account
- Go to “Websites”
- Find your website and click the three dots
- Choose “Duplicate Website”
- Select your hosting plan and confirm
Your duplicated site will appear in your list of websites. It’s unpublished by default, so if you want to test it, just click “Edit Website” and hit “Go Live.”
Step 2: Delete the Original Website
Now that your backup is ready, it’s safe to reset the original site.
- Click the three dots next to the website
- Select “Delete”
- Confirm by checking the box and clicking “Delete”
This process may take up to 10 minutes. Refresh the page to see when the site has been fully removed.
Step 3: Recreate Your Website from Scratch
To start over:
- Click “Add Website”
- Select Hostinger Website Builder
- Choose a pre-made template or use the AI builder
- For this tutorial, we used the same original template
After setting up the layout, publish your new site using the “Go Live” button.
Step 4: Connect Your Original Domain
Once your new version is ready:
- Return to the “Websites” page
- Click the three dots and choose “Connect Domain”
- Enter your domain name (e.g., yoursite.com)
- Confirm that you own the domain
- Click “Next” and then “Continue”
Now your new website will be live under your original domain.
