If you’ve just launched a website using Hostinger’s Website Builder and want it to show up on Google, this guide will walk you through the exact steps to request indexing using Google Search Console.
Step 1: Access Your Website and Google Search Console
First, log into your Hostinger account and open the website you want to index. Then, visit Google Search Console and click Start Now.
Step 2: Add Your Site as a Property
Choose URL Prefix instead of Domain for easier verification. Paste your full website URL starting with https:// and click Continue.
Step 3: Verify Ownership
Google suggests uploading an HTML file to your site—but with Hostinger’s builder, this isn’t possible. Instead, select the HTML tag option.
Copy the provided meta tag, return to your Hostinger editor, go to Integrations > Custom Code, paste the tag in the header section, and save.
Step 4: Confirm Verification
After saving your code and updating your website, go back to Google Search Console and click Verify. You should see a confirmation that your ownership has been verified.
Step 5: Submit Your Sitemap
Head to the Sitemaps section and enter sitemap.xml after your domain. For example:https://yourwebsite.com/sitemap.xml
Click Submit. This helps Google understand your site structure and speeds up indexing.
Step 6: Manually Request Indexing for Specific Pages
If you’ve updated a specific page (like your contact or blog page), you can request Google to index it manually. Paste the page URL in the URL Inspection tool, and click Request Indexing.
Google will test if the page can be indexed and then place it in a priority crawl queue. Submitting the same URL repeatedly will not speed up the process—once is enough.
