If you’re building a website with Hostinger and need to restrict access to specific pages—whether for internal teams, clients, or members—this tutorial will walk you through the full process of creating a password protected page using the Hostinger Website Builder.
Step 1: Log Into Your Hostinger Account
Start by logging into your Hostinger account. Once in your dashboard, locate the site you built with the Hostinger Website Builder and click “Edit Website.”
Step 2: Add a New Page
Go to “Pages and Navigation” and click on “Add Page.” In this example, we’ll use Hostinger AI to generate a new page. Provide a detailed description of the page, such as:
“Create a team access page with a welcome message, quick access links (project tracker, content calendar, brand guidelines), and login shortcuts to Notion, Canva, and Hostinger.”
Click “Create Page” and customize the result as needed.
Step 3: Publish Your Page
Once you’re happy with your content, click “Update Website” to make your new page live.
Step 4: Enable Password Protection
Return to “Pages and Navigation,” click the three dots next to the new page, and choose “Password.” Enable the password toggle and create a password. You can choose from different login screen designs and customize all the text, including:
- Heading and subheading
- Placeholder text
- Button text
- Footer message (e.g., contact email or homepage link)
Click “Save” and then “Update Website” again.
Step 5: Test Your Protected Page
Visit your website and try accessing the new page. You should be prompted to enter a password. Once entered, the page will display your protected content.
Pro Tip: Make Your Page More Secure
To prevent your content from being indexed or archived by search engines or services like Archive.org, always create a new, unpublished page and password protect it before publishing. This way, crawlers can’t access or store your content.
