How to Add a Video Background in Hostinger Website Builder

If you’re using the Hostinger Website Builder and want to make your website stand out, adding a video background is a great way to grab your visitor’s attention and create a more dynamic user experience. In this guide, I’ll walk you through how to replace a static image with a video background in just a few clicks.

Step 1: Log In to Your Hostinger Account

Start by logging into your Hostinger account. Go to the Websites section, locate the site you want to edit, and click on Edit Website.

Step 2: Choose the Section to Edit

Navigate to the section you’d like to enhance with a video background—such as your hero section or any custom section. Click on Edit Section, then go to the Background tab.

Step 3: Select the Video Option

Instead of using a color or image, click on Video. Hostinger integrates with Pexels.com, giving you access to a wide variety of royalty-free videos.

Use the search bar to find a video that matches your brand or theme—for example, you could search for “nature,” “technology,” or “business.” Once you find a video you like, click Select Item to apply it as the background.

Step 4: Customize the Video Settings

After choosing your video, you can fine-tune the settings:

  • Overlay Opacity: Adjust how much color overlay appears over the video.
  • Fixed Background: Decide whether the background moves with scrolling or stays fixed.
  • Position: Use alignment tools to choose which part of the video is shown.

Step 5: Save and Preview

Click Update Website to save your changes. Visit your site live to preview how the video background looks and functions in real-time.
