How to Add a Site Icon (Favicon) in Hostinger Website Builder

July 12, 2025

A site icon, also known as a favicon, is the small image that appears in a browser tab next to your website’s title. It’s a subtle but important element for branding and helps your site stand out among many open tabs. In this guide, you’ll learn how to add a custom favicon in Hostinger Website Builder in just a few easy steps.

Step 1: Log In and Open the Editor

First, log into your Hostinger account and navigate to the Websites section. Find the website where you want to add a site icon, then click Edit Website.

Step 2: Access General Settings

Once inside the website builder, click on the three-dot menu (⋮) and choose More Settings, then go to General Settings. You’ll see an option labeled Favicon. Click on the update arrow to begin.

Step 3: Create a Favicon Using Favicon.io

Open a new browser tab and go to favicon.io. Use the Text Generator tool to create a favicon using the first letter of your website name.
You can choose the shape (square, circle, or rounded), font style, size, and colors to match your branding.

Step 4: Download and Upload Your Favicon

After customizing your favicon, download the ZIP file provided by favicon.io. Extract the files and locate the largest icon size (usually 512×512 pixels). Go back to Hostinger, click Upload Files, and upload your favicon image.

Step 5: Apply the Favicon

Once uploaded, go to My Library, select your new favicon, and apply it. Be sure to click Save Changes and then update your website by clicking the update icon in the top corner.

Step 6: Verify Your Site Icon

Open your website in a browser and you should now see your brand-new site icon next to the page title in the browser tab.
