If you’re building a website using Hostinger Website Builder and want to enhance its functionality, adding a widget is a simple yet powerful way to do it. In this tutorial, I’ll walk you through the exact steps to embed a widget — such as a calendar — using HTML code in just a few minutes.
What Is a Widget?
Widgets are small applications or tools you can embed into your site to offer additional features — like calendars, booking forms, countdown timers, and more. One popular source for free widgets is Common Ninja.
Step-by-Step: Adding a Widget in Hostinger Website Builder
1. Get Your Widget Code
First, choose your widget (in this example, a calendar from Common Ninja). After setting it up, click on Copy Code to copy the embed HTML.
2. Log Into Hostinger
Go to your Hostinger dashboard and log into your account. Under the “Websites” tab, locate the site where you want to add the widget and click Edit Website.
3. Create a Blank Section
Once inside the editor, create a new blank section where your widget will go. This keeps your layout clean and organized.
4. Embed the Widget
- Click on Elements in the left panel.
- Scroll down and drag the Embed Code block into your new section.
- Click on the block and hit Enter Code.
- Delete the default code and paste your widget code.
- Click Embed to confirm.
You’ll see your widget appear instantly inside the builder.
5. Publish Your Website
To make the changes live, click the Update Website button at the top. Then view your site live to confirm everything is working as expected.
Why Use Widgets?
Widgets let you extend your website’s capabilities without needing to code from scratch. From booking systems to interactive maps, they’re a quick way to add professional functionality to any page.
