If you’re using Hostinger’s Website Builder and want to start tracking your visitors, optimizing your analytics, or managing tags for Google Ads or third-party platforms — you need Google Tag Manager. In this step-by-step tutorial, you’ll learn exactly how to install Google Tag Manager code on your Hostinger website.
Step 1: Create a Google Tag Manager Account
Start by visiting the Google Tag Manager website. Click on Create Account, then fill out your account name (e.g., “Ben Tutorial”), select your country, enter your website’s URL, and choose Web as your platform. Accept the terms and proceed.
Step 2: Copy the GTM Code
Once your account is created, you’ll be provided with two snippets of code:
- One for the head of your website
- One for the body section
Step 3: Add Code to Hostinger Website Builder
Log into your Hostinger account and navigate to the Website Builder section for the site you want to update.
- Click Edit Website
- Go to More → Integrations → Custom Code
- Paste the head section code and hit Save
- Then, update your website
Step 4: Add the Body Code Using Embed Element
- Scroll to your footer
- Click the + button to add a new element
- Drag and drop the Embed Code element
- Paste the body code snippet
- Click Embed and adjust the height to hide the element
Place this element strategically so you remember where it’s located.
