How to Add a Footer Section in Hostinger Website Builder (Step-by-Step)

July 12, 2025

A clean and functional footer is a vital part of any website — and with Hostinger Website Builder, adding one is simple and intuitive. In this tutorial, I’ll walk you through the exact steps to create and customize your website footer, so you can include branding, legal pages, and key contact details with ease.

Step 1: Access the Website Editor

Start by logging into your Hostinger account. Navigate to the “Websites” tab, and click “Edit Website” for the project you want to update.

Step 2: Add the Footer Section

In the editor, click the Add Section button. Scroll down to the “Footer” category, and choose your preferred footer design. You can choose to add it to all pages or just the current one — for most users, applying it site-wide is ideal.

Step 3: Customize the Footer Design

After the section is added, click Edit Section to personalize it:

  • Background: Choose between a solid color, an image, or a video background.
  • Logo: Use the “+” icon to drag and drop an image element, then upload your website logo. If you don’t have one, use the built-in AI or manual logo creation tool under the Header > Logo tab.

Step 4: Add Social Icons and Links

Click on the social icons in your footer, then hit the gear icon to edit the links. You can add, reorder, or delete platforms based on your preferences.

Step 5: Insert Legal Links

To include Terms and Conditions or Privacy Policy:

  1. Double-click a text element and change the label.
  2. Use the Link tool to connect it to the corresponding page.
  3. If you don’t have these pages yet, create them using built-in templates under the “Pages & Navigation” menu.
  4. Drag these legal pages into the “Hidden from Navigation” area if you don’t want them in your main menu.

Step 6: Final Touches and Publishing

Make sure to update your site and preview the live version. Your new footer should now appear on all pages, complete with a sleek background, logo, social links, and legal navigation.

Why This Matters

A footer does more than fill space — it reinforces brand identity, enhances site navigation, and keeps you legally compliant. Whether you’re building a portfolio or a business site, this small step goes a long way in professionalizing your online presence.
