How to Delete a Website in Hostinger Website Builder: Step-by-Step Guide

July 9, 2025

If you’re looking to remove an old or unused site from your Hostinger account, this guide will walk you through exactly how to delete a website in the Hostinger Website Builder safely.

Step 1: Log In to Your Hostinger Account

Start by logging in to your Hostinger dashboard. Navigate to the “Websites” section to find a list of all your active websites.

Step 2: Back Up Your Website (Optional but Recommended)

Before deleting anything, it’s a smart move to duplicate your website. This serves as a backup in case you change your mind or need some content from the old version.

To do this:

  • Click the three dots next to your website
  • Select “Duplicate Website”
  • Choose the hosting plan (if available)
  • Confirm duplication

Your new copy will appear above the original site in the list.

Step 3: Delete the Website

Once your backup is ready, follow these steps to permanently remove the site:

  • Click the three dots next to the website you want to delete
  • Select “Delete”
  • Read the warning carefully: this action will erase databases, images, custom code, and subdomains
  • Confirm by clicking “Delete”
  • Wait up to 10 minutes for full deletion

Step 4: Confirm Deletion

After deletion, refresh your websites list. You can also try visiting the domain to ensure the site has been taken down.

Final Tip

Always ensure you’re deleting the correct website and have made backups if needed. Once deleted, the data is unrecoverable except for email-related items (restorable within 30 days).
