If you’re building your ecommerce store using Hostinger Website Builder and want to accept payments through PayPal, you’re in the right place. In this post, we’ll walk you through how to connect your PayPal Business account and troubleshoot common issues users face during the process.
Step 1: Access Your Hostinger Store
Start by logging into your Hostinger account and going to your website. From there, click on “Edit Website” or directly on “Manage Store.”
Step 2: Navigate to Payments Settings
Once inside your store dashboard, go to Settings > Payments. If the PayPal option is not visible, try changing your store’s company location to the United States. This should make the PayPal gateway appear.
Step 3: Connect Your PayPal Business Account
Click the Connect button next to PayPal. Enter your PayPal Business email address and proceed to log in. You must have a PayPal Business account; personal accounts won’t work for ecommerce payments.
After logging in, you should see a success message confirming that your PayPal account is now linked to Hostinger International Limited. Return to the Hostinger dashboard, and the PayPal payment method should now show as “Enabled.”
If it still says “Pending” in orange, simply refresh the page until it updates.
Step 4: Update and Publish Your Site
To make the PayPal integration live, go back to the website builder, click Edit Website, and then hit Update Website.
Step 5: Test the Integration
Visit your live site, navigate to a product page, and click Book Now or Add to Bag. Fill in the form, select a country, and proceed with the booking. You should see PayPal as a payment option at checkout.
Common Errors and Fixes
1. Missing E-commerce Features
You’ll need to be on the Business Website Builder Plan to use PayPal, Stripe, or manual payments. The Premium plan does not support ecommerce features, so make sure you upgrade if you see a prompt to do so when accessing the Payments section.
2. “We Can’t Accept Online Orders Right Now”
This error typically means you haven’t created a shipping zone. To fix it:
- Go to Settings > Shipping
- Click Create Zone
- Name your zone (e.g., “International Shipping”)
- Add your target countries
Once you create at least one zone, the error will disappear and your store will be able to accept orders.
Final Notes
Adding PayPal to your Hostinger-built store is simple when you follow the right steps. Remember to check your plan, use a PayPal Business account, and set up at least one shipping zone.
